These were my 3 small compositional sketches. The one at the upper left was the one I did first. I liked the general layout and how it included the stools and booths, but I thought I would try other cooler angles to see if I liked it better. Then I did the sketch on the bottom with a closer view of just the booths with the tables. This I wasn't really fond of because of the lack of detail, and it was just generally sloppy. I wouldn't want to shade in a cushion that large, since it would be transferred to a large sheet of paper. The sketch on the upper right is the one I did last, showing more view of the stools, and a view of the kitchen. Although I liked the idea, I still liked my first the best, so I used that to make the large compositional sketch.
The above photo is my final compositional sketch. I decided to add round booths in the back because I thought they look cute (very challenging in perspective), and add backs to the stools which i really liked. I put a little more detailing in the ceiling, picture frame outlines for the walls, and lamps. I tried to do the tile in this sketch, but i figured it would just take too long, so i just figured out how to scale and space accurately.
